Faith Over Fear
Share
There’s a moment in Scripture that perfectly captures the tug-of-war between faith and fear. It’s when Peter, at Jesus’ invitation, steps out of the boat and walks on water.
Let that sink in — he walked on water.
For a brief moment, Peter was doing the impossible. He wasn’t being held up by the laws of nature, but by faith in the One who called him.
But as soon as he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the wind, the waves, and the fear… he began to sink.
How many times have we done the same?
🌊 Fear Distracts. Faith Anchors.
Fear has a way of making us focus on what could go wrong instead of who God is.
But faith — real faith — keeps our eyes locked on Jesus, even when the winds of life are loud and the waves are high.
Faith doesn’t always silence the storm, but it gives us the courage to walk through it.
🚶🏽♀️ What’s Your “Water”?
Maybe your water isn’t a literal sea, but a tough decision… a new opportunity… or a step God is calling you to take even though you feel unqualified.
Your fear says, “You can’t do this.”
But your faith says, “If He called me, He will carry me.”
📖 Let’s Remember:
“But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.”
— Matthew 14:30–31 (NIV)
God doesn’t leave us in our fear. Even when we slip, He reaches.
🙌🏾 Today’s Encouragement:
Don’t let fear decide your future.
Step out of the boat. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Walk in faith — even if your knees are shaking. Because with Him, every step you take in faith will take you closer to purpose, breakthrough, and peace.
📝 Thought for the Day:
“Fear may knock, but faith is what opens the door.”
Stay faithful. Stay grounded. Serve daily.
